Roller-skate into Broadgate this half-term

This October half-term, a roller disco will be held in Broadgate from Monday 25 October – Sunday 31 October 2021.

All week, SK8 House Roller Disco will be bringing the skates and disco tunes for all ages to enjoy from 10am each day.

The Roller Disco will be a pop-up location for the Go Parks: Active Schools Challenge – City of Culture Special so customers will be able to skate and scan to earn 10 points for their school.

There will be one set price for all customers at £4, or £3 for those with a Go CV card. Sessions last for one hour.

Skate and wrist guard hire are included in the price with skate sizes starting at a UK child’s size nine, up to an adult's size 13. Customers are also welcome to bring their own.

The roller rink will be open 10am – 6pm, Monday – Saturday with last entry at 5.30pm and 10am- 4.30pm on Sunday with last entry at 4pm.

A quiet session with no music or lights will be held on Tuesday 26 from 10-11am for those that prefer a quieter atmosphere.

The roller rink will be undercover to protect from all-weather, with viewing and changing area to allow room to get those skates on.

Groups and parties are welcome to attend. No booking is required in advance, but if you have a special occasion, please call SK8 House on 07814 600111 or email at heath@sk8hire.co.uk.

Councillor Kamran Caan, Cabinet Member Public Health and Sport, said: “What a great activity to have in our city centre for the half-term week. I’m really excited to see this and see the people of Coventry enjoying a roller disco every day of the week.

“The activity is under cover, outdoors so whatever the weather, families will be able to enjoy the roller disco.

“Having the Go CV price is brilliant too. Yet another activity that is fun, open to all and promotes physical and mental wellbeing that is affordable in the city. I can’t wait to join in and get my skates on too.”

Heath Stone, SK8 House Events Manager, added: “We’re really excited to be back in Coventry. It’s a great location and we always have a great time there. There will be disco lights and fantastic music on all week and we can’t wait to see you there.

“We’d like to remind everyone that we do provide all equipment necessary to enjoy your roller-staking session including skates and wrist guards. Although, you’re very welcome to bring your own if you prefer. See you from 25 October for the best roller disco in Broadgate.”
