The moment has come. Coventry’s very own permanent indoor street food venue is officially open - offering the perfect place to enjoy food and drink in a great setting in the city this summer.

Factory at FarGo Village opened its doors this weekend, offering what it calls a social all-day dining experience complete with street food, music, craft beer and cocktails.

What does Factory at FarGo Village look like?

Based in the city’s Creative Quarter, Factory’s home is several repurposed units at FarGo, funded in part by the CWLEP’s Get Building Fund. Inside is an industrial-inspired space that gives a nod to its previous incarnation as home to one of Coventry’s largest car radiator businesses. Outside is a covered area as well as an impressive outdoor terrace that allows you to look down on the creative haven that is FarGo, or just to soak up the sun while you eat, drink and are merry from brunch through to dinner

Factory is home to five permanent street food specialists. Stripclub Streetfood will impress with Instagrammable, tasty burgers, while the Grub Shed serves up dirty loaded fries for you to feast on. Pizza lovers can enjoy Neapolitan style offerings from Dough and Flow while vegetarians can tuck into the Paneer Wrap Street Food Company.

For those with a sweet tooth, Get Us Baked - run by The Brownie Box by Emily - serves up brunch, coffees, and cakes from the bar. On top of the great food, there’s a wide selection of drinks from the likes of the Twisted Barrel Brewery - whose home is also at FarGo - as well as Warwickshire-based Purity. New traders will also be invited in at regular intervals to keep things fresh and keep your tastebuds tantalised.

All that is alongside the great food and drink that is already available at FarGo Village, including  BIB Noodle with its own hand-pulled noodles,

Caribbean cuisine from Leave It To Esmie, fine dining restaurant experience Gourmet Food Kitchen, and vegan eatery Dirty Kitch.

What else is on offer at FarGo Village?

As well as Factory, FarGo is also home to The Box, an on-site creative arts venue that will be able to offer live music, theatre and family-friendly entertainment. The village itself is home to a range of independent, creative traders offering everything from art, craft and vintage clothing to tattoo artists, barbers and more. FarGo Village also hosts regular events from vintage sales to craft markets and even a plant market.

Why is Factory at Fargo important for 2021?

The opening of Factory coincides with Coventry Moves - the signature event that kicks off Coventry’s 12 months as UK City of Culture. It also provides something the city has never had before - showcasing independent street food, music craft, beer and cocktails.

The £360,000 renovation work to create Factory at FarGo has been funded in part by the Cultural Capital Investment Fund, which includes an allocation from the Getting Building Fund from the Government via the Coventry and Warwickshire Local Enterprise Partnership (CWLEP) and Arts Council England funding.
