Weavers House Open Day

The Weaver’s House has summer fun lined up for visitors with two special free Open Days.

The first, Exploring Archaeology, is just as the school summer holidays get going, on Sunday 21 July. The Open Day will see a visit from CADAS (Coventry and District Archaeological Society) who will be running a small onsite dig as part of the day. There will also be a display of artefacts that were excavated from the site during the original dig in the 1990s, before the house was restored.

The second Open Day, Summer Fun in the Garden, on Saturday 17 August is an opportunity to see the garden in full bloom and find out about the herbs and plants that were used for cooking, medicine and more. There will be a fun ‘rub-a-bug’ colouring trail, and visitors can join in to see how many butterflies they can spot for the Big Butterfly Count.

Opening times on both days are 11am – 4pm. Admission is free and no booking is necessary. Refreshments will be available.

The Weaver’s House at 121, Upper Spon Street, CV1 3BQ, can easily be reached on foot from Coventry City Centre. Some on-street parking is available in Upper Spon Street. More details are available at www.theweavershouse.org
