FarGo Village’s Christmas Makers Market will return following a two-year hiatus to bring together its largest-ever collection of independent producers across two weekends!

Coventry city centre’s independent creative hub will start its Christmas countdown with a day dedicated to chocolate lovers before hosting its biggest ever festive market.

FarGo Village’s Christmas Makers Market will return following a two-year hiatus to bring together its largest ever collection of independent producers across two weekends, allowing visitors to fill their boots – or stockings – with hand-crafted festive gifts and seasonal treats.

FarGo Village’s Winter Chocolate Festival will see a range of local producers head to the city centre on Saturday, November 20 between 11am and 5pm, where visitors will be able to try the best cocoa-inspired treats available in the Midlands exactly five weeks before the big day.

The Village is also helping visitors enjoy eco-friendly festivities this year to cut down on waste and carbon emissions, with a vintage clothing market and vegan festival heading to the site.

FarGo regulars Vintage Vera will return with a waste-conscious clothing market on Sunday, November 21 between 10am and 4pm with 1kg of vintage clothing available for £15.

The Winter Vegan Festival will then take over on Saturday, November 27 and Sunday, November 28 from 11am and will feature handcrafted animal-friendly gifts to fill stockings and the finest plant-based treats to enjoy on the day.

The two following weekends will be dedicated to the Village’s biggest ever Christmas market, which is in town on Saturday, December 4 from 11am until 5pm and Sunday, December 5 from 11am until 4pm, and the same times the following weekend.

Lucy Thompstone, FarGo Village Events Manager, said: “We are a unique venue and with that comes a very special Christmas shopping experience with our resident creators set to be joined by a variety of visiting traders across both market weekends, alongside live music and festive performances, while Vintage Vera and our Winter Vegan Market are there to remind us of the importance of having a sustainable Christmas.

“As well as coming along to see the great things our market stalls will have on offer, we would urge all visitors to pop into our resident businesses to see what seasonal delights they have cooked up or created ahead of the festive season, or pick up books, vinyl and clothing that you might not find anywhere else and explore what else we have in store this Christmas.”

Multi award-winning alto-saxophonist and MC, Soweto Kinch, who has been nominated for a Mercury Prize and was the recipient of two Urban Music Awards and a MOBO for Best Jazz Act, will headline the Christmas edition of FarGo’s Jazz Jam.

The free-to-attend event will take place on Thursday, December 9 from 8.30pm, with FarGos’ Friday Late also returning for a winter special on Friday, December 17, with late night independent shopping, artisan food and drink and free live performances from 5pm until 10pm.

Dabbers Bingo is also back in action at FarGo with two Christmas-themed events: 'Pick N Mix' Bingo on Saturday, December 18 from 6.30pm, and ‘Family Brunch Bingo’ from 11.30am the following morning.

FarGo will cap its Christmas events with a visit from Teach-Rex, which will bring its lifelike velociraptors to the Village to give youngsters the chance to meet and learn about the famous prehistoric creatures from 10am on Thursday, December 23.

Lucy added: “Bookings are open for most of these events and while we will keep some tables aside, we are encouraging people to reserve a table to avoid disappointment as many of these events will fill up very quickly.”
