Non-essential shops, hairdressers, gyms and outdoor hospitality are now open, so what better time to support your local businesses?

From food to fashion, Coventry businesses have worked hard to ensure they can welcome you back safely. While this is an exciting time for our city, please remember to look out for one another and maintain safe social distancing measures, wearing a face covering when required to do so.

Shoppers parking in the city centre can now park for longer thanks to the reduced parking rate. Those who usually stay for more than four hours pay a charge of £10, but the new rate allows parking for up to five hours parking for £5, six hours for £6, seven hours for £7, and so on – up to 10 hours. For more details on city centre parking, please see the Coventry City Council website

We will be providing suggestions and updated information on what is available to you over the coming weeks. Keep an eye out on our social channels for content: TwitterFacebook and Instagram

Dine outdoor with Coventry business

Dining outWhen it comes to enjoying a bite to eat or a few drinks, there’s nothing quite like going alfresco to add to the occasion. Coventry has a huge choice of outdoor restaurants, whether it’s for a slap-up meal, quick bite, casual cocktail, or an afternoon in the sun.

With outdoor dining allowed in England from Monday 12 April, as part of the government’s roadmap out of lockdown, alfresco options have never been more in demand, and luckily, we have plenty in the city to cater for every taste, budget and need. And even if the sun doesn’t shine, the great food and drink on offer are enough to bring a smile to anyone’s face.

Community testing continues in Coventry

LFTIn order to understand the way COVID-19 is transmitted in communities and reduce its spread, community testing for Coronavirus is available to all Coventry residents, for anyone who is not showing symptoms of the virus.

The locally-led service will test people without COVID-19 symptoms (asymptomatic) in Coventry using lateral flow antigen testing. The aim of testing people who do not have COVID-19 symptoms is to protect those most at risk, using rapid testing to speed up the process. Find your nearest test centre on the Coventry City Council website.

Anyone with COVID-19 symptoms, should immediately seek a free test in the normal way by calling 119 or visiting the NHS website
