After a difficult year, you've probably spent the past few weeks counting down the days until it becomes socially acceptable to do all of the exciting winter activities we all love so much.

Like much of the country, Coventry has new visiting restrictions and guidelines in place, but you can still make the most of your holiday season with our list of the very best Christmas events Coventry has to offer.

Rediscover the city this Christmas with a host of special things to do, from ice skating inside the ruins of our beloved Cathedral, to pantomime performances we can enjoy from home. We have festive Christmas markets, drive-in cinema, great takeaway services from local restaurants and even our twinkling Christmas lights throughout Coventry city centre to help enhance our Christmas shopping experience and lift our festive sprit. There really is something for all!

No matter what you're doing to celebrate this December, we hope you have a wonderful time. Please stay and safe and if you'd like to know more about local restrictions, please visit the Coventry City Council website. Thank you for your continued support in 2020. We look forward to seeing you in 2021, our UK City of Culture year!

Coventry Glides into Christmas

Coventry GlidesAn iconic Coventry landmark is set to be transformed into a winter wonderland for the first time, creating one of the most spectacular festive ice-skating rinks in the UK.

The magical new ice rink will see people in Coventry come together safely and have some winter fun when ‘Coventry Glides' is launched at the Coventry Cathedral Ruins from 4 December to 10 January.

A number of Covid safety measures will be put in place to ensure guests can stay safe and still have fun, including timed slots for skaters, reduced skater capacity, mandatory facemasks for all skaters – except for those who are exempt – and cleaning in between skating session.

To book your tickets, please see the City of Culture website

Get your Coventry 2021 calendar

Coventry Cathedral

Earlier this year, Visit Coventry called out to local photography enthusiasts for their help in curating a brand-new city calendar for our 2021 year.

Hundreds of entries were submitted to the competition in September, making the shortlisting extremely difficult for the judges! With help from supporting partners and even members of the public, the team were finally able to choose the winning 13 images that come together in this new calendar as a wonderful celebration of our city.

To get your hands on your own copy of this Coventry calendar, it couldn’t be easier! Head over to www.visitcoventry.co.uk to order yours now. The calendars are printed in extremely limited numbers so be sure to get in early before they’re all gone.

Priced at £6.99 (+P&P), the calendar is a wonderful treat for yourself to help plan your year ahead, or the perfect Christmas present for any Coventry fan!
