Published: Monday, 25 January 2021

Valentines day

Date nights aren’t quite what they used to be. In 2021, staying in is the new going out, but it doesn’t mean you can’t do something special.

Coventry food and drink businesses have been pulling out all the stops to make sure you can enjoy everything from three-course meals to cocktails and more to enjoy a special date night at home.

Whether it’s a Valentine’s Day treat or just a special occasion, our city’s restaurants, bars and independent businesses are offering plenty of options for a Coventry lockdown date night. From Coventry restaurants doing ‘dine at home’ boxes to great Coventry takeaways or romantic treats from Coventry businesses, here are a few ideas:-

Valentine’s Bistrot Box from Bistrot Pierre

Bistrot Pierre is doing a special Valentine’s Bistrot Box so you can enjoy their food in the comfort of your own home. Available from the Coventry Bistrot Pierre as well as others round the country, the box includes a four-course menu and a bottle of their signature Cuvée 94 rosé wine.

The menu includes: a French baguette and butter; a whole baked Normandy camembert; French onion soup; Bistrot Pierre’s signature Boeuf bourguignon and two desserts to share. They’ve done most of the hard work for you so you just need to finish off the dishes and serve up. You can also add extra bottles of wine if you want.

The boxes are £50 and you’ll need to get your orders in by February 7th ready for collection on February 13th. For more information visit their website.

Breakfast for two or afternoon tea from Esquires

Breakfast in bed doesn’t have to be only for Valentine’s Day. Esquires Coventry are offering breakfast for two delivered to your door whenever you like. You’ll get two plain croissants, two pain au chocolat, two homemade granola, yoghurt and fruit, cereal boxes, two bananas, strawberries, grapes, milk and four spoons. Everything you need for a relaxing date without even leaving your bed. They’re also doing a Valentine’s afternoon tea and offer afternoon teas at other times too if you fancy a sweet treat to celebrate with a loved one, or even send as a gift.
