Coventry Calendar 2021 - Terms and Conditions

  • An entry to the competition is free and open to all UK residents aged 18 years or over.
     
  • Entry into the competition constitutes acceptance of these Terms and Conditions. The Promoter reserves the right to refuse entry to anyone in breach of these terms and conditions.
     
  • The opening date for entries is 10:00 on Tuesday 1 September. The closing date of the competition is 23:59 on Friday 18 September.
     
  • Each entrant may enter up to a maximum of three images in to the competition. Late, illegible, incomplete, defaced or corrupt entries will not be accepted. No responsibility can be accepted for lost entries and proof of transmission will not be accepted as proof of receipt. Entries must not be sent through agencies or third parties.
     
  • Entries must be in digital format only – no prints or slides will be accepted.
     
  • Entries must be in a landscape format (not portrait) only.
     
  • Entries must be JPEG files and be the best quality available; minimum file size 2 MB.
     
  • Entries must be free from text and photographers’ watermarks.
     
  • Photographs must be entered online via the Promoter’s website, www.visitcoventry.co.uk. Digital files should indicate title of image and photographers name for crediting purposes e.g.Cathedral_AndrewJones.jpg.
     
  • Your personal details will not be passed on to any third party without your permission.
     
  • It is the responsibility of each entrant to ensure that any images they submit which include an identifiable person or persons have been taken with the permission of the person or persons pictured and do not infringe the copyright of any third party or any laws. Entrants must warrant that the photograph they are submitting is their own work and that they own the copyright for it.
     
  • By submitting a photograph to this Competition, entrants agree that the Promoter has the right to free reproduction and exhibition of the image in all media to promote the Promoter’s work. Photographers will be credited if an image is used. Images submitted must however be free of copyright restrictions.
     
  • Copyright in all images submitted for this Competition remains with the respective entrants. However, in consideration of their entry into the Competition, each entrant is deemed to have granted a full worldwide, irrevocable, royalty-free, non-exclusive and perpetual licence to the Promoter to feature any or all of the submitted images in any of their publications, their websites and/or in any promotional material connected to this competition. The licence shall include the right to grant or assign sub-licences and shall be transferable to third parties without the consent of the entrants.
     
  • All images must be taken in Coventry – postcode areas CV1-CV7.
     
  • Digital adjustments are acceptable. The way in which any digital enhancement or editing has been used will be taken into account when judging the entry. However, major changes of content are not allowed.
     
  • Judges appointed by the Promoter will choose 12 images - one per month. The front cover winner will be selected by a public vote on the Promoter’s website. The organiser’s decision on all matters relating to the Competition is final, and no correspondence will be entered into concerning the Competition’s judges and organisation. Due to the high number of entries individual feedback is not possible.
     
  • All 13 finalists shall be notified by email or telephone (using details provided at entry). A list of winners will also be available on the Promoter’s website and shared across appropriate social media channels.
     
  • All entries are sent at the photographer’s risk. Insofar as is permitted by law, the Promoter, its agents or distributors regrets that it cannot in any circumstances accept liability for any loss or damage of any images entered in the competition (howsoever caused) nor for any other loss or damage resulting therefrom. Your statutory rights are not affected.
     
  • The Promoter reserves the right to hold void, cancel, suspend, or amend the competition where it becomes necessary to do so.
     
  • The competition will be governed by English law and entrants to the competition submit to the jurisdiction of the English courts.
