Visiting Coventry safely

Staying safe in Coventry

This summer, we hope many of you will be excited to begin exploring our city, rediscovering the amazing breadth of attractions, food, drink and retail opportunities we have across Coventry.

To maintain the important balance between safety and fun during your visit, our local tourism businesses have been busy implementing brand new measures to keep staff and visitors safe. To do your part, please ensure that you adhere to the below requirements to ensure your trip is enjoyable for all:

  • To ensure the safety of yourself and others, please respect a 2-metre distance with those outside of your household or 'bubble'. If not possible, a minimum of 1-metre is required.
  • Please have consideration for the local community if you’re exploring one of our outdoor attractions including parks and gardens.
  • Check the guidelines implemented by each attraction or venue you are visiting; familiarise yourself with their requirements before you travel, especially their opening hours which may have changed.
  • Be prepared that some venues may require you to pre-book online prior to your arrival to ensure the safety of all visitors.
  • It is worth noting that even if you have a membership to the attraction or venue you want to visit, you may still need to pre-book your attendance so that the venue can monitor their daily numbers.
  • Expect a high demand at key times, so please make sure to plan your visit ahead of time and book tickets in advance of your arrival, especially in the first weeks after reopening.
  • To avoid any crowding, try to avoid arriving at the venue during the busiest periods.
  • Expect there may be queues and new ways of navigating each attraction, things may be different from what you’re used to.
  • Plan your meals ahead of time. If not bringing your own food, many of our cafes are likely to offer a takeaway service, but please check these options before you visit.
  • Consider how you will travel to Coventry and how you will reach your chosen attraction safely – please avoid public transport where possible.
  • Many attractions will ensure hand sanitiser is available throughout their venue, but please bring your own along too, along with a face mask or covering – just in case it should be required.
  • Businesses across Coventry will now be displaying a Test and Trace QR code poster. The built-in QR scanner in the NHS COVID-19 app lets you scan these codes to check in. It’s the simplest way to help protect the ones we love.

Thank you for helping us keep Coventry safe.
