Join us for a free screening of Partition on Tuesday 9th November, presented by Action Rayz.

A film about the events surrounding the Indian subcontinent’s division into India and Pakistan and the tumultuous events that surrounded this, involving the uprooting of huge numbers of people. Director Ken McMullen’s film vividly examines these events through the lense of the division talks and the what was then called a lunatic asylum in Lahore. With the same actors playing the rulers and inmates of the asylum. A script adapted by the director and Tariq Ali, the doyen of sixties student protest. Staring a stellar cast including Zia Mohyeddin and Saeed Jaffrey. Yes you’d call it experimental, but it’s well worth your time!

The screening will be held in the Chapter House, which is accessed externally via Priory Street.

Rating 12.
