Creative fun for little hands and feet! Arrive anytime and be prepared to get messy!

9 January | 6 February | 5 March | 2 April

Two sessions each day
10.30am – 12.00pm & 1.30pm – 3.00pm

There is tons of creative fun for little hands and feet! Babies and toddlers can explore various materials across the sessions including paint, glitter, paste, sand, clay, slimy spaghetti, chalk and much more. Messy play is integral to early childhood development, appealing to children’s curiosity and helping them understand the world through their senses. These informal art sessions will also expose them to early mark making, enabling them to develop good concentration, muscle control and encourage their imagination. Arrive anytime and be prepared to get messy!

Upcoming themes:
9 January – Pre-Historic Hunters – Journey to a time before written records existed and stomp through paint to make dinosaur footprints, add to our caveman art wall with handprints, craft a fiery volcano and delve into trays full of mud, clay and mess!
6 February - Woven Wonders – Discover patterns and colour with this month’s activities, focusing on all things woven. Encourage fine motor skills with weaving activities, get lost in trays of wool and ribbon and cooked spaghetti, print painted designs, or use super stingy paint brushes.
5 March – World Book Day, The Very Hungry Caterpillar – Join us for our annual celebration of World Book Day with our retelling of The Very Hungry Caterpillar in our Sensory Stories and Mini Maker Sessions. Our sensory tuff trays will be full of explosions of colour and toys to play with, plus get messy with paint as we print caterpillar patterns, make footprint butterflies and more.
2 April – April Showers – It’s raining, it’s pouring, but Mini Makers is never boring. Discover the fun of rain-based activities. Explore the colour blue with trays full of dyed rice, shredded paper and hundreds of cotton wool balls to pretend your little ones are floating in a rain cloud. Plus get creative and experiment with mark making using our water spray bottles, paint dabbers, pipettes. There’s also a bit of puddle paint jumping to get those feet involved.

We advise that you and your child wear items of clothing that you are happy to risk get paint on. Whilst the paint is water based it may stain if not washed out quickly. Many of our regular visitors have a dedicated 'messy' outfit for the purposes of enjoying this session to its fullest extent, with a spare outfit to change into afterwards.

At busy times you may be asked to wait.

Designed for age 0-4, but all are welcome.
