Coventry has a great selection of fun, educational and creative activities taking place across the city this half term.

There are so many exciting things to do and see in Coventry this half term, no more calls of ‘we’re bored’ with these delights! It’s a perfect opportunity to get out and about and explore what’s on your doorstep.

Wildlife Photographer of the Year at the Herbert Art Gallery & Museum

The acclaimed wildlife photography exhibition from the Natural History Museum is back with 100 stunning images. From breath-taking animal portraits and dramatic landscapes, to bizarre species and endangered habitats, this exhibition showcases the most arresting and spectacular images of our natural world.

Follow That Hare: An Art and Nature Trail at Warwick Arts Centre

Grab a backpack filled with arts materials, binoculars and a flora and fauna check-list and go on a self-led art and nature trail around the spectacular University of Warwick campus.

Family Sculpture Trail at Warwick Arts Centre

Join the Creative Learning Team on a FREE guided Art and Nature trail around Warwick Campus. You will discover some of the newest sculptures in the collection, find out about the wildlife on campus and have a chance to sketch and make as you walk around.

TAXI – The Story from A to B at Coventry Transport Museum

From horse drawn to horse power, the history of the taxi is much older than you think. The black taxi cab is a British icon along with Big Ben and bowler hats, but did you know this much loved vehicle has been made in Coventry since the 1940’s? This exhibition celebrates one of the hardest working vehicles on our roads.

The Earth's Environments at the Herbert Art Gallery & Museum

Join the Herbert for a week of wonder and explore the Earth's environments through arts and crafts. Opportunity to make clay volcanoes, marbled moonlight scenes and Ice Cave Carry Lanterns.

18-19 February

February Camp at Belgrade Theatre

The Belgrade’s Holiday Camps are action-packed with drama games and practical activities to keep young people entertained during the school holidays.

During February half term, the Belgrade will be exploring the silly and wonderful world of Slapstick Comedy. Using fun, practical drama games and activities to create mini performances inspired by famous slapstick scenes from great Hollywood movies.

18-22 February

Family Craft Activities: Made in Coventry – Taxis at Coventry Transport Museum

Explore the story of the London Taxi in Coventry. Make your own taxi to take home and have a go at making it run with a battery powered motor.

20-23 February

Billionaire Boy - The Musical at Belgrade Theatre

One-day factory worker Len Spud invents a new loo roll “Bum Fresh – wet on one side, dry on the other”. The wiping-wonder is an instant hit. Len, and his son Joe, become overnight billionaires, turning their lives upside down.

Whilst Mr Spud spends, spends, spends on fast cars, 100-inch TVs, and lavish gifts for his glamorous new girlfriend, Sapphire Stone, Joe is left to fend for himself.

20 February

Crazy Claymation at Fargo Village

Come along to the Let's Animate studio and enjoy making an animated film as a family or with friends.  Filmmakers will design and build a short animated scenario, that will then be brought to life using stop frame animation. (think Wallace and Gromit!). Open to all ages and family members.

Intronauts at Warwick Arts Centre

Recommended Age: 12+

In a not-too-distant future, people can buy personal cleaners called Intronauts – miniaturised human workers injected into their bodies in order to carry out essential maintenance. But just how much do we actually want to know about what goes on inside ourselves?

21 February

Brilliant Brick Flicks at Fargo Village

Come along to the Let's Animate studio and create your very own LEGO Brick stop frame animation. Working in teams, Filmmakers will devise a short scenario, build sets, animate their scene, add sound effects and edit their creations.

£12.50 per child ages 7+

23 February

Introduction to Screen Printing at Fargo Village

Learn how to create your own single colour screen print on our introductory course.
