The Coventry Festival of Motoring is to be held on the 4th & 5th September. This is a free weekend of fun packed entertainment; simply a must for lovers of motoring heritage. The weekend starts on Saturday with a fabulous display of vehicles in Millennium Place in Coventry city centre. On Sunday the event moves onto the War Memorial park where up to 600 vehicles are expected to gather from all over the country. Some vehicles enjoy a 60 mile run around the glorious Warwickshire countryside before judging takes place in the picturesque park itself. An action packed programme full of variety and educative facts will provide a day of family packed fun for everyone.
The City of Coventry has a fantastic history of invention, from Frank Whittle and the Jet Engine to James Starley, Lady Godiva and even Two Tone. To celebrate this dynamic and encouraging symbol of creation and success, Coventry's Festival of Invention will showcase some of the most fascinating and intelligent aspects of invention taking place right at the heart of the city of Coventry today, across a broad range of sectors; including advancements and developments in ICT, Sports & Culture, Medicine, Green Technology, Social Policy and Engineering.
