What is Shopmobility?
Shopmobility is a service which provides powered and un-powered wheelchairs and scooters for people who have either permanent or temporary limited mobility; allowing them greater independence to use the pedestrianised shopping areas within Coventry's city centre.
Where is Shopmobility?
The Shopmobility unit is located on the ground floor of Barracks car park, directly behind the Upper Precinct, at the rear of Bhs.
Shopmobility's opening hours are 8.45am - 4.30pm Monday to Saturday.
How does Shopmobility operate?
- It is advisable to book the chairs or scooters in advance by telephone or by calling in at the unit.
- Two forms of identification showing name and address (e.g. driving licence or library card) must be produced when picking up your Shopmobility vehicle.
- Customers are strongly recommended to book in advance.
- You or your companion can park in the disabled area of Barracks car park.
- All electrical vehicles will be demonstrated by a member of staff until you feel confident to use it alone.
How much does it cost?
There is no charge for the service, but you may make a donation if you wish. The Shopmobility unit also sells a wide variety of products to cater for those with disabilities ranging from kitchen appliances and bath lifts, to powered scooters and wheelchairs, both new and second hand. Shopmobility - Warwickshire
Bedworth
Provides: Free electric scooters, electric wheelchairs and manual wheelchairs for disabled and older people to visit the town centres for shopping, leisure and recreation.
Location: Leicester Street - opposite the George Street multi-storey car park.
Booking: Members can book up to 7 days in advance by calling 024 7631 1199.
Opening Hours: Tuesday and Friday - 10am to 4pm.
Nuneaton
Provides: Free electric scooters, electric wheelchairs and manual wheelchairs for disabled and older people to visit the town centres for shopping, leisure and recreation.
Location: Coton Road, on the ground floor of the Ropewalk multi-storey car park.
Booking: Members can book up to 7 days in advance by calling 024 7632 5908.
Opening Hours: Mon - Sat 9:30am to 4:30pm
Leamington spa
Provides: Free electric scooters, wheelcahairs are available all day but do carry a small fee. All donations are gratefully accepted.
Location: Royal Priors level 4 with 18 wide access parking spaces available.

Stratford upon Avon
Provides: Free powered scooters and wheelchairs for those with a permanent or temporary disability.
Location: Bridgefoot car park, in the middle of Stratford-upon-Avon.
Booking: Call in to Shopmobility or phone 01789 414534.
It is essential to book in advance and to reserve a parking space.
Opening Hours: Tue - Sat 9am - 4pm, Mon 10am- 3pm (Limited to 3 hours).
